The price of a transfer into an uncompressed AVI files is just $0.95 per minute of video and it will take approximately 13 gigabytes of disc space per each hour of video.

The price of MPEG-2 video file is only $14.95 per hour of video and the size of file will be about 2 gigabytes per each hour.

We will store your digital video files on the Maxtor external hard drive - the best of its type.

Some great things about converting your media to HDD:

• Transferring your videotapes to HDD enables you to edit your home movies yourself (AVI format).
• We convert each of your tapes to a separate file
• Send any media you have, including VHS, Beta, DVCAM and other tapes

As we offer transferring your tapes into AVI and MPEG-2 , it can be difficult for you to choose. Here's some information about both formats.

AVI is used for editing. It takes about 13GB for one hour of video material. If you want to put your own hand to the videos, AVI is better than MPEG-2 as most of the popular video editors support AVI.

MPEG-2 is another format we convert your video to. It's used in DVD's as more compressed format with reduced size but still very good quality.
You can edit your videos in this format, but it's not recommended as MPEG-2 most of the time needs to be converted to some editable format. This is due to the problem of most editors not supporting MPEG-2. However, if you convert it to another format, the video quality degrades, so we suggest finding an editor that supports this format exclusively.

No matter which type of conversion you choose, it's still a very easy and convenient way to preserve and save your memories.
